Here at the Global Crime News Network, our ultimate aim is to provide new perspectives on crimes that are rarely talked about in the mainstream media. Although our priority is global crime, we also cover a wide range of other topics surrounding crime, criminal behaviour and the criminal justice system.

Our Story
My name is Simon Herelle, creator of the Global Crime News Network. I created this website with the intention of providing new insights and perspectives on crime and to bring something a little bit different to criminological research
I have dedicated the last 6 years of my life to studying and researching crime. Inspired by my own personal experiences of tragedy and injustice, I went on to achieve a degree in psychology and criminology and an MSc in criminology.
Our Approach
Crime is complex and varied. The role of a criminologist is complex and varied. Therefore, approaches to understanding crime should be just the same. Our methods seek to provide alternate views that are backed by strong evidence. The approach is to challenge mainstream views and opinions. The BBC for example will often fact-check researchers or alternate opinions…but who fact-checks the BBC? Thats where i come in….
